Two hands holding a ball of clay

Contemplative practices such as mindfulness, body work, and meditation have been used for thousands of years to cultivate wisdom, clarity, kindness, and well-being.

Increased awareness of our body and physical senses is a fundamental gateway towards these qualities and the foundation for mindful and wise awareness.

Buddhist teacher and peace activist Thich Nat Hahn, reminds us that “We are of the earth, not on the earth”. Since clay is quite literally the ‘body’ of our planet and home, working with clay is a powerful tool for reconnecting to our own body, senses, and inner world.

Join us for an experiential day of embodied contemplative practice. We will be exploring various ways that clay can be used in practices such as mindfulness, embodiment, and connecting with the heart.

The day will offer resources to:

  • Taste how it is to work with clay in therapeutic and reflective work
  • Gain advice on how to develop this within your own therapeutic work through further training
  • Essential support and rejuvenation for care professionals
  • Explore more deeply the mind-body connection
  • Nourish the nervous system
  • Utilise creativity and play for self-reflection
  • Nourish tired hearts.
